Arai Snell 2010 Helmets - SA2010 Helmets for Auto Racing and K2010 for Karting
Arai Snell 2010 standards update
The transition from the SA2005 helmets and K2005 standard is more difficult than in previous years.
Many of the 2005 certified helmet models had to require extensive modifications to meet the new SNELL 2010 Standards.
For these reasons, the SNELL SA2010 and K2010 helmets are not available yet, we are expecting the first SNELL 2010 Arai helmets SA2010 and K2010 around 10/01/2010
Unfortunately we do not know at this time how many Arai helmets will be available for the US Market. For that we have created for you an Arai Snell 2010 Pre-Order Special with a $100 refundable deposit to secure a Snell 2010 SA2010 or K2010 Arai helmet.
All current Arai helmets have a Snell SA2005 and K2005 sticker even though they are the new spec helmets. These still have a 5 YEAR LIFE and will remain legal for racing until the 2015 Snell helmets come out.
The changes proposed for Snell 2010 standards are in response to recent anthropometric measurements of the human head.
The Snell foundation now has the capability to test the new FIA 8860 and FIA 8858 standards, these FIA standards apply to Formula 1 helmets and to Hans tether hardware.
All Arai helmets meet or exceed SNELL certification standards.
