Arai Sizing
When buying a helmet it is important to ensure that you have measured your head correctly. Arai auto racing helmets and Arai karting helmets are available in 6 different shell sizes depending on the model, this ensures the correct size helmet for each customer. The smallest shell is XS, size 53-54. For every two sizes, there is one specific shell size starting with XS (53-54) up to XXL (63-64). Due to varying shapes, heads that are apparently the same size when measured by a tape may not necessarily fit the same size helmet -
It is important to measure the circumference of your head from above your ears, passing the tape measure over the center of your forehead, and over the natural bump that everyone has at the back of their head resulting in the largest possible measurement.
If you have longer or shorter hair, there may be some tolerance either way. So if you prefer a tight fit, we recommend a smaller size and if you prefer a loose fit, go for the bigger size. Take several measurements to make sure you have the correct one.

Note: After measuring your head you may find yourself between sizes on the Arai sizing chart – when this happens you should opt for the smaller helmet size, as the interior helmet padding will give way relatively quickly, and will ensure your head fits snugly.

All New Arai GP6 PED, GP6 RC, GP5 W and SK6 helmets have removable cheek pads, these pads are available in different sizes to customize the fit of your new helmet.
For the GP6 PED and GP6 RC, cheek pads are available in 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30mm
For the GP5 W, cheek pads are available in 12, 15, 20, 25, 20, and 35mm
For the SK6, cheek pads are available in 12, 15, 20, 25 and 30mm
